Today I woke up at Diana's house and we made a great breakfast together. We're not much for Valentine's Day, and really believe that if you love someone, you'll make it a point to show it everyday...cheesy I know, but hey, it's true right? However, not to make her feel left out, I made her shrimp with orzo tonight and surprised her with some flowers. It was quite the ordeal, grocery shopping and getting everything prepared in the time I had while she was gone. My roomate John helped prepare some of the ingredients, and thankfully it was in the oven before she arrived. It was delectible to say the least. Of course, Diana ended up giving me a basket of snacks, because she knows how much of a sweet tooth I have. We spent some time after dinner in St Paul walking around, which didn't last long as it was 19 degrees out...not exactly the ideal temp for a stroll.

It was a great and much needed break from school, considering I have a nice big assignement for DF2 due Tuesday.I love the class, but it's so much work I'm finding myself pulling all nighters (last wed) and neglecting some of my other homework for my other architecture classes...naja, I'll figure out to balance soon hopefully.

I'm off to bed to wake up early tomorrow morning, I'm working at Apple for my only shift for the next two weeks...and I didn't even request off. All fine by me of course, I've been getting more inquiries than ever lately :]

lots of work I'm about to release, I've had a great time sorting through the multiple shoots I've been doing over the past few weeks.

one sidenote: my friend and fellow photog Spencer Combs proposed to his girlfriend in Nashville last night, and I'm soooo incredibly excited for him. I've been helping him cope with his ideas, stress, and travels on his way to that moment, but I'm sooo stoked now that it's official!

last night

a set from last night at the City of Sound CD Release Show. I did a quick shoot for Go Nutz! for a magazine in Minneapolis, but the name I can't remember at the moment. Gave me a chance to really use my new lenses and camera, and I'm really stoked about the results. More on these later, for now:

Sing It Loud
Sing It Loud, Epitaph Records, Aug 2008

Now that I'm finally home for the holidays, I've had a chance to catch up on work from the past few weeks and even go back through all the projects I worked on and find images I always liked but never released.

I'm currently finishing up some family photos, work for the Simley Track Team, and Trace The Skyline and looking forward to the many projects planned for 2009, my trip to California, new business cards, a new website (finally), and whole lot more. I've been blessed this year and fortunate to meet so many people and learn so many new things so it's safe to say I'm excited to see what 2009 has in store.

I'll be releasing a whole crop of new images on the web in the next couple days, ahead of my new website and a couple of other secret events; here are a couple to preview:

Simley Track Team

Minneapolis

It's been a couple weeks since I posted. Finals are over with after tomorrow, except I still have a 10 page paper to turn in on wednesday. It's been blistering cold here in the state of Minnesota lately, reaching a -20 degrees windchill yesterday and probably again tonight. I've had a few shoots as well and still have a couple more booked before the end of the year. I'm also leaving for the west coast to hangout with my friend Austen for a couple days in January, which I can't wait for.

2 things to do:
a)check out my friend Spencer's work, he just did a shoot with Steve Moakler and is going to take over in the coming months. flickr.com/spencer-combs | spencer-combs.com

b)check out my gallery on the front page of Photography Served (sister site to Behance)

more word on the new website and projects in the coming days, I need to get back to studying.

Here are a few images from my day with Rocket To The Moon. These images should be in the next AP Mag showcasing the bands for the AP Tour. My friend Max from Get Young just joined the band so it was great to see him again.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and I've been working to finish some of my analytical and value drawings for my arch 2301 class, along with a final project in 3711. I'm about to watch Notorious by Hitchcock before bed, all while working on said projects.

It's supposed to get warmer over the next couple of days, makes me happy to see winter holding off just a few more days!

here's one more outtake from that shoot:

californication

Finally I am able to update some things now that I am out of town and currently sitting in my hotel room in Cupertino.

I've been gone in California for the past week, and will be here until the 22nd doing some work for Apple. The whole week has been passing by somewhat slow, following a routine up until Friday. I spent the entire weekend with my friend Austen (great photographer and great guy) out here in the Bay Area, mostly spending time in San Francisco and his hometown of San Ramon, taking a lot of pictures, swimming in his pool, driving, and catching up. We're already starting to plan for next weekend, which should probably get alittle more crazy. Here are some of the photos of the past two days, with of course, more to follow.

Just busy finalizing alot of graduation shoots from a few weeks ago, prepping for school, and trying to squeeze as much summer out of the last month that's left before september.

I'm very stoked for the next month or two, especially for all the new work that i'm going to be doing and all of the new things i'm releasing...including my new website.

stay tuned...

Picture 2

I have a whole new website coming, i'm guessing sometime soon. It'll finally give the ability to update it more often, have more and larger pictures to view, so i'm stoked to get it finished.

I've been extremely busy with shoots the past week, diana has finally come home from her family in buenos aires, and i leave in exactly one week for california.

Plans for the next week include a shoot with Take Cover on thursday, and also two more senior photo sessions. Sadly I will not be shooting The Morning Of tomorrow because they experienced some van troubles during tour, so that shoot will hopefully be rescheduled for sometime this fall. Some days will be filled with part time work at Apple, and to top it all off A Day To Remember on Saturday and Warped Tour on Sunday.

photos soon to follow...

I've been really busy lately, especially with work at Apple and the whole iPhone launch. I've managed to have found time to finish pictures from a wedding back in june. I've also been hard at work on scheduling graduation photos, finishing pictures for Sing It Loud's music video release next week, and so many other things on top of that. I have 5 graduation shoots next week, then Diana is home finally, and only one week later and I'll be in California until the end of August.

Somewhere in there and after I'll find time to edit, get ready for school, shoot a couple bands, hangout with my family and girlfriend, work, and possibly sleep.

I'm still working on getting a new layout for my website, and hope to have a new one up around October. I'll be focusing on simplifying the layout, making it easier to update, and adding more content.

I had the house to myself for two weeks while Sam was on tour and Caleb was working at home. but for the next couple days I will be spending time back home with my mom and sisters, as well as visiting my grandparents and sleeping.

2008 just keeps on flying by.

Home

I have just returned back to my home here in Minnesota a few days ago after being in Germany for the past two weeks. I was there with my parents visiting my exchange family I stayed with a few years ago. We see each other every year and switch off coming to stay with one another. This year's trip was highlighted by getting to know my german brother a lot better, spending time with his parents, meeting many new people and visiting the ones I hadn't seen in awhile. The parents also made a separate trip to austria while Daniel and I hung out at home for 1/2 the week.

here's only a few pictures out of hundreds:

While I was there I also had some work to finish. Here are some from my shoot with Emiliana a few weeks ago:

I was finally able to see Diana last night and am planning on spending as much time with her before she leaves me for Argentina for a month. I'm also moving into a new house this week, getting back to work and already have a ton of shoots planned for the next few months, and I'm in the planning process of touring with my friends in Sing It Loud and Get Young.

Thank God summer is here.
