Sing It Loud
Sing It Loud, Epitaph Records, Aug 2008

Now that I'm finally home for the holidays, I've had a chance to catch up on work from the past few weeks and even go back through all the projects I worked on and find images I always liked but never released.

I'm currently finishing up some family photos, work for the Simley Track Team, and Trace The Skyline and looking forward to the many projects planned for 2009, my trip to California, new business cards, a new website (finally), and whole lot more. I've been blessed this year and fortunate to meet so many people and learn so many new things so it's safe to say I'm excited to see what 2009 has in store.

I'll be releasing a whole crop of new images on the web in the next couple days, ahead of my new website and a couple of other secret events; here are a couple to preview:

Simley Track Team

Minneapolis

It's been a couple weeks since I posted. Finals are over with after tomorrow, except I still have a 10 page paper to turn in on wednesday. It's been blistering cold here in the state of Minnesota lately, reaching a -20 degrees windchill yesterday and probably again tonight. I've had a few shoots as well and still have a couple more booked before the end of the year. I'm also leaving for the west coast to hangout with my friend Austen for a couple days in January, which I can't wait for.

2 things to do:
a)check out my friend Spencer's work, he just did a shoot with Steve Moakler and is going to take over in the coming months. flickr.com/spencer-combs | spencer-combs.com

b)check out my gallery on the front page of Photography Served (sister site to Behance)

more word on the new website and projects in the coming days, I need to get back to studying.

Here are a few images from my day with Rocket To The Moon. These images should be in the next AP Mag showcasing the bands for the AP Tour. My friend Max from Get Young just joined the band so it was great to see him again.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and I've been working to finish some of my analytical and value drawings for my arch 2301 class, along with a final project in 3711. I'm about to watch Notorious by Hitchcock before bed, all while working on said projects.

It's supposed to get warmer over the next couple of days, makes me happy to see winter holding off just a few more days!

here's one more outtake from that shoot:

Here are some pictures of some friends and I finishing the many time-intensive drawings the night/morning before our review for Arch 2301.

Expect more over the next few years ;]

I have a meeting with the Coach from Simley HS tomorrow, should be interesting. I'm shooting their track team in a couple weeks so I'm extremely stoked! Wish me luck

Now & Forever

Mark

dead tired, and a really interesting week has already been set in motion. Started off on Sunday after work, I had a quick shoot with a band for an hour until dark, then drove home, made a sweet dinner, biked to school and got a ticket. what for you ask? for going through a stop sign. a bike. through a stop sign. What followed was an entire night spent drawing at the architecture building until 8am, at which point I went to economics, then came back for my third review for my class. I got a solid A, was stoked, and proceeded to fall asleep in the courtyard for 3 hours. since then, monday, we had a scare of getting evicted on account of our landlord, staying up late again, broke a tube in my bike tire (again), scheduled a shoot with an entire metro track team in a couple weeks, biked in freezing cold (see below), etc.

I'm currently trying to finish an overdue paper, schedule next semester's classes, finish a few shoots from the past few weeks while planning for new ones, keep up with other homework, be on time at apple, hangout with dee, plan a vacation, staying warm, and possibly maintain a social life. oh how I can't wait for break.

here are a few from the past week: Now and Forever (myspace.com/nowandforever) and a couple more from my shoot with Mark.

The weekend is here and it's almost over.

Shot a wedding today with my friend Spencer; 30 degrees, windy, snowing, and so much fun!
got a lot of great shots.

Here's a set from one of my senior shoots this fall, along with a shot from my late October shoot with For All Those Sleeping (myspace.com/forallthosesleeping)

For All Those Sleeping

I'll be spending most of this coming week in the library again, along with pushing out some finished shots of my last few shoots, including City of Sound.

Winter is beginning, which means a new website in the works, and more importantly, a vacation.

the morning of

Here's the image of The Morning Of taken earlier this month.

Halloween was intense last night, I rode around the entirety of Minneapolis, took pictures of the drunk college kids in their costumes, and barred the cold at 3 AM on my ride home.

pictures soon.

also, it is me and my girlfriend's 2 year anniversary today! It's been nothing but fun and I hope every guy can find a girl like mine.

Happy Halloween

I find myself with many photos to show, but will wait until they are up officially. I'm going to spend my halloween biking around Minneapolis taking pictures of everyone's costumes.

next week I'll have some pictures, for now, my place and the people that I share it with (forgot sam, i'll post one later)...

The Bled

Some of my bike, built by my friend Austen. If you'd like one for yourself, he custom builds the best fixies I know: http://www.goldencitybikes.blogspot.com/

also one from the bled, taken way back when.

I've been keeping busy lately, and feeling the need to change or grow more in how I go about shooting pictures. It's an ongoing process, as it has been for the past few years, but I'm excited to see what kind of images I produce. I have a number of shoots left for the months of oct and nov, and if I feel inclined I might slow down until next spring.

I'm blown away by the new canon 5d and might be switching bodies coming early next year, we'll see how soon I'll be able to get my hands on that hahha!

Oct 7

This is how I spent my 21st birthday; Taylors Falls with my girlfriend, apple orchard, driving the a3, good breakfast and dinner.

It was great to finally have a day to not worry about anything, but now that school has started this week, I've been living at the library and trying to keep up with homework. It's proving difficult, but I'm staying focused.

pictures from The Morning Of shoot should be up soon, head to my flickr to peep an outtake from that Friday.

So it has been awhile, sorry to be MIA over the past few weeks. These are some from my shoot with The Drive Back last week, I'm stoked with how they turned out.

School is in full swing and I'm enjoying every bit of it, however my architecture classes have become that much more demanding this semester. I'm currently keeping myself sane by riding around on this guy:

tons of fun, and easy to say I've been on about four or five 2 hour bike rides through minneapolis in the wee hours of the morning over the past week. I'm currently at home for the evening, working on finishing up editing on some shoots from early september and taking some pictures for my sister in her first homecoming dress.

I'm shooting The Morning Of on Friday, going to Taylors Falls to spend some quality time with my favorite girl for my birthday on Saturday, and spending the rest of the time keeping up with school, so I definitely have my hands full!

final note: new website has been pushed for completion next month, we'll see if it's ready by then.

Austen

now that school has started back up, I've been struggling to catch up on work. Looks like time management has hit me as a priority with full force.

More cool stuff to come this month, along with a new website...

one week

school starts in one week....I think I'm ready to start.

finished up the Sing It Loud pictures, there are more, but those are for later. Epitaph put up an unedited version of the picture on their myspace, go peep that or something (because honestly, i'm not sure why they did).

Also, the football dude is Ryan, these are some extra shots I did for his senior pictures, because the kid is a 4-time captain, some large number all conference/all state football playing machine. Not to mention, he's also a great guy. His pictures turned out great, but he was super stoked for these.

also, ETID from Warped Tour, which was sick...because it always is.

need sleep, update later.
